Bismah Haq
Community Relations and Issues at Metrolinx - Community Volunteer - Passionate about Human Rights and Social Impact
Bismah Haq is a MA student at the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Sussex in the UK. She holds an Honours BSocSc in International Development and Globalization from the University of Ottawa. Bismah is a feminist, proud Pakistani Canadian, and Ismaili Muslim.
In terms of professional experience, Bismah has held various roles in government and public organizations. She has worked as a Community Relations and Issues Specialist for the Ontario Line at Metrolinx. Previously, she served as a Legislative and Policy Advisor at the Office of the Minister of Indigenous Services, a Legislative Assistant at the Parliament of Canada, and a Special Assistant in Communications and Community Outreach at the Government of Ontario.
Bismah Haq's background also includes work as an Intern in the Office of the Minister of Energy at the Government of Ontario, a Student Contract at the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), and a Records Officer at Health Canada. Additionally, she interned at the Constituency Office of Bob Chiarelli, MPP for Ottawa West-Nepean, at the Government of Ontario.
She completed her high school education at Iroquois Ridge High School. Bismah Haq's diverse experiences in political staff roles, community relations, policy advising, and communication outreach highlight her versatile skill set and commitment to public service and community engagement.
