Dr. Bill Frist, a renowned heart and lung transplant surgeon, holds an esteemed position as a Special Partner at healthcare firm Cressey & Co and is the founder/partner of Frist-Cressey Ventures. He is a former U.S. Senate Majority Leader and the voice behind the "A Second Opinion" podcast.
Senator Frist's influence in American healthcare is substantial, consistently ranked among the top leaders in the field. He has served on the boards of various prominent companies like Teladoc Health, Accolade, Select Medical, and SmileDirect Club, among others. Additionally, he is associated with philanthropic organizations like the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and The Nature Conservancy.
With a strong educational background, Dr. Frist studied health policy and international relations at Princeton University before attending Harvard Medical School. He completed his surgical training at Massachusetts General Hospital and a transplant fellowship at Stanford University, eventually establishing and directing the Vanderbilt Multi-Organ Transplant Center.
During his 12-year tenure as a United States Senator representing Tennessee, Senator Frist's leadership was pivotal in significant healthcare legislation, notably the passage of PEPFAR and the creation of Medicare Advantage.
