Betsy Price: is an American businesswoman and politician who served as mayor of Fort Worth, Texas from 2011 to 2021. She was first elected to the nonpartisan office on June 18, 2011 and served five consecutive terms, making her the longest-serving mayor in Fort Worth's history.123
Price previously served 2½ terms as the elected Tarrant County tax assessor-collector, from 2001 to 2011.4 As mayor, she focused on fiscal responsibility, economic development, strengthening education, promoting public safety, and improving mobility.3 Some of her key achievements include:

Price was born in Tarrant, Texas in 1949. She graduated from Arlington Heights High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1972.4 Prior to entering politics, she ran her own car title and licensing company for 17 years.4
She has been married to Tom Price, an insurance executive, for over 40 years. They have three adult children and several grandchildren.4
