Bernard Olson
Bernard Olson
Bernard Olson is a distinguished research scientist at the University of Minnesota with a wealth of knowledge and experience in various scientific disciplines. He completed his undergraduate degree in mathematics at Saint John's University and later enrolled for a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics at the University of Minnesota, which he obtained in 2016. During his Ph.D. studies, Bernard's research interests were in computationally intensive statistical methods, Bayesian optimization, and high-performance computing.
After earning his doctorate, Bernard worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Texas at Austin, where he led a data science research group that specialized in developing algorithms for analyzing large data sets from single-cell genomics experiments. In 2019, Bernard joined the University of Minnesota as a Research Scientist in the Division of Biostatistics, where he currently works.
Bernard's research interests include machine learning, Bayesian inference, and statistical modeling of high-dimensional data. He has published numerous papers in top scientific journals, including Nature Communications and the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. Bernard is also an active member of various scientific associations and has received numerous awards and honors for his contributions to the field.
