    Ben LeRoy, a native of Madison, WI, is a multifaceted individual with a deep-rooted passion for words and literature.

    Having graduated with a double major in English and Philosophy from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Ben embarked on a remarkable journey in the world of publishing.

    In 2000, he founded Bleak House Books, which he later sold to Big Earth Publishing in 2005, before moving on to establish Tyrus Books in 2009.

    His entrepreneurial spirit led to the sale of Tyrus Books to F+W Media in 2011, where he continued to serve as Publisher.

    Subsequently, Tyrus Books became part of Simon & Schuster/CBS following an acquisition by F+W Media in 2016, eventually being integrated into the Gallery imprint.

    Transitioning from publishing to freelance editing in 2017, Ben LeRoy has continued to stay actively engaged in the literary world.

    Beyond his professional endeavors, Ben is a music enthusiast, avid traveler, rock climber, and introspective explorer, displaying an insatiable curiosity for the world.

    He initiated the Be Local Everywhere project in 2014, dedicated to volunteer work across all fifty states, showcasing his commitment to community and giving back.

    Currenty, Ben LeRoy serves as the Executive Director of the Independent Publishers Caucus, leveraging his wealth of experience to support independent publishers and advocate for the industry.
