Basu Dev Ratnam is the founder and CEO of INDAY, a chain of Indian-inspired restaurants in New York City. He founded the company in 2015 with the mission to bring the joy and connection of Indian cuisine to people's daily lives.13

INDAY
INDAY is rooted in the Indian philosophy of food as medicine, offering seasonal dishes inspired by Ayurvedic principles.23 The menu features fire-roasted kebabs, homemade breads, curries, salads, and drinks.3
In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, INDAY pivoted to serve thousands of meals to local health organizations and hospital networks.2 In 2021, Ratnam organized fundraisers and a global restaurant campaign to raise over $900k for emergency relief in India.2
In December 2023, INDAY acquired Beatnic, a vegan restaurant chain in New York City, marking the beginning of INDAY's expansion beyond its current five locations in Manhattan.4 The acquisition will bring INDAY's total unit count to 10, including its first location outside of NYC in Boston.4
