    Bassam Abdelnabi is a seasoned professional in the field of thermal & fluid sciences, with over 18 years of experience in conducting research and leading high-pressure component testing.

    Currently working at GE Research in the emissions & fuel flex lab, Bassam specializes in developing new mixers and enhancing the performance of GE combustors.

    His notable achievements include leading the development and validation of combustion technologies such as DLE 3.0 and 2.4, as well as spearheading projects related to combustion systems for various gas turbines including LM9000, LM6000 PF+, 7FA, LEAP, GEnx, LM6000PF, LM6000PH, LMS100 (SAC & DLE) & LM2500.

    Bassam's expertise extends to flex fuel projects involving hydrogen, propane, crude oil, and low wobbie fuels, along with conventional fuels like natural gas, JetA, diesel, and DistII.

    His approach to mixers development/improvement encompasses the entire process from proposition to data analysis, demonstrating skills in idea development, DOE, rig internals design, test cell management, controls logic, and data analysis, while collaborating with a team of experts.

    With a strong academic background, Bassam holds a Masters in Mechanical Engineering focusing on turbomachinery, a Masters in Nuclear Engineering specializing in heat transfer modeling, and a PhD in Aerospace Engineering with a focus on Gas Turbine Combustion diagnostics using advanced techniques such as PIV, LDV, high-speed imaging, and emissions measurement.

    Throughout his career, he has held key roles at prestigious organizations like GE Global Research, CB&I, and various universities as a Research and Teaching Assistant.
