Basel Eltell is a seasoned professional with over 16 years of extensive experience in electronic/digital payments, including cards, mobile, e-commerce, acquiring, and funds transfer.

He currently holds the position of General Manager for MasterCard, overseeing the Saudi Arabia and Levant Region, exhibiting strong leadership and strategic skills in managing regional accounts with banks, telcos, and financial institutions.

Previously, Basel served as the Vice President of MasterCard Levant, led the Cards and Payments Sales Division at EmiratesNBD, and managed the MENA and Indian Subcontinent region for MoneyGram based in Dubai.

With a background in working for leading regional banks and global organizations across the Middle East, Africa, and the USA, Basel brings a wealth of expertise to the table.

In his current role as a Senior Business Leader - Regional Manager for MasterCard in Dubai, Basel focuses on driving P&L growth and expanding market share in the Levant region, particularly in electronic payments with customer banks and financial institutions. His responsibilities span across various payment solutions such as credit and debit cards, e-commerce, mobile and advanced payments, bill payments, prepaid solutions, acquiring, and government initiatives.

His specialties include portfolio analysis in retail banking and cards business, digital payments and banking, electronic financial payments, mobile payments, online payments, e-commerce, payment gateways, chip technology, and affinity/co-branded loyalty solutions.

Basel Eltell pursued his education by studying International Business & PSC at the University of Oklahoma and completing Business Executive Education in Business Winning Proposition at Columbia University in New York City.
