Bart Knols

Bart Knols is a distinguished scientist and conservationist known for his groundbreaking work in mosquito control and conservation efforts in the Maldives.

He holds an MSc in Biology and a PhD in Medical Entomology from Wageningen University, the Netherlands, as well as an MBA with distinction from the Open University, UK.

With over 11 years of experience in East and Southern Africa, he has managed research and vector control programs for ministries, international organizations, and research institutions.

Bart has a significant publication record, with over 140 research papers and numerous book chapters to his name, including a co-edited book on emerging pests and vector-borne diseases in Europe.

He has received prestigious awards such as the Ig Nobel Prize, IAEA Special Service Award, and the Eijkman medal for his contributions to tropical medicine.

As a member of the Royal Dutch Academy of Arts and Sciences, Bart Knols is highly regarded in his field.

He founded K&S Consulting in 2007 and currently directs the firm, offering his expertise in areas such as public health, science communication, and entrepreneurship.
