Barry Matherly is a certified economic development professional with decades of experience in helping communities prosper. He is known for his ability to create opportunities for new investment and job growth. Barry holds a Bachelor's degree in Management from James Madison University and a Master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning, specializing in Economic Development, from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He is also a graduate of the Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma.
Over the years, Barry has held several leadership positions, including President and CEO at Hickey Global, former President and CEO at Detroit Regional Partnership, former President and CEO at Greater Richmond Partnership, and former Senior Vice President at Greater Richmond Partnership. He has also served as the Executive Director at Lincoln Economic Development Association and as the Director of Economic Development at Goochland County and Pulaski, Virginia.
