She studied French Literature at Sweet Briar College during her junior year in France and went on to receive her Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts, Theatre, and French from Sarah Lawrence College. She also holds a Master of Arts degree in Arts Administration from Teachers College, Columbia University.

Throughout her career, Kendra has held various positions in reputable organizations. She is currently the Director of Development for the Midwest Region at Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), where she applies her expertise in raising transformational gifts to support their mission to safeguard the earth and provide a healthy environment for all people. Previously, Kendra served as Acting Vice President of Institutional Advancement, Executive Director of Individual Giving at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and Director of Major Gifts at Cambridge in America. She also held management and fundraising roles at leading institutions such as Thirteen/WNET, Guggenheim Museum, A Traveling Jewish Theatre, and Ubu Repertory Theatre.
