Senior Software Engineer at Even

Permanent is a food marketplace that enables vendors to source fresh produce from local and sustainable farms (https://www.permanent.ag). During my time there I built the full stack for the farmer onboarding flow which allowed farmers to create and manage their own profiles; the farmer storefront which allowed users to see crop calendars, inventory, and info about specific farms; and implemented Spanish language support for all farmer-facing parts of the app.

Software Engineer

ONE is an online banking app that allows users to spend, save, and grow their money all in one place (https://www.one.app). I worked on the Onboarding & Auth team, where I built out a new front-end for the redesigned onboarding flow, helped migrate the onboarding flow from React to React Native, and led the implementation of OAuth authentication with Plaid Exchange.

Senior Software Engineer

Even built financial tools to help employees living paycheck-to-paycheck manage their finances. Our product was offered as an employee benefit through our employer customers as a B2B2C model, with Walmart being our flagship customer. I joined as employee #20 and engineer #5, and stayed with the company through our acquisition at ~150 employees and ~30 engineers. During my time there, I worked across all parts of the stack and the product, oftentimes acting as the tech lead for the company's biggest and most important product bets. In my last 2 years there as a Senior Software Engineer, I:

• Led the addition of multiple savings goals, with 2 other engineers. This included a full redesign of the savings product on the frontend as well as significant changes on the backend to how users' settings were stored and how funds were transferred.

• Worked on our bill pay product, first as an IC on a team of 5 engineers and then as a tech lead of the same team. Wrote technical implementation plan, implemented most of the internal front-end and back-end work, and delegated integrations to the rest of the team. Oversaw the building, testing, and launch phases of integrations with VGS (security vendor), ACI (bill pay vendor) and CRB (bank vendor).

Even (acquired by ONE, a Walmart venture)

Led the development of our auto-save product, growing it from zero to 200k+ users and $10mil+ money saved every paycheck cycle. I was the tech lead and also functionally the PM, doing everything that was needed to make the project succeed: creating the technical implementation plan, regularly meeting with stakeholders (both internal and external) to track shifting requirements and coordinate on timelines, scoping and delegating technical work, writing the majority of both the front-end and back-end code, and building SQL dashboards to track metrics & analytics.

Software Engineer II

• Implemented a work schedule interface into the front page of the app, which quickly became the app's biggest driver of engagement. By integrating with our employer customer's payroll and scheduling systems, we were able to show hourly employees the hours they've worked so far, the hours they have scheduled, and how much they should expect to earn in a given pay period. I did all the front-end work as well as some backend work on the GraphQL API.

• Led our tax refund savings product, which allowed users to pre-commit to saving a percentage of their tax refund through the app, detected when the tax refund landed in their bank account, and executed a transfer to their Even savings account. Acted as tech lead and also sole developer, defining and scoping out a technical plan as well as doing all implementation on both the front-end and back-end. Used by ~2k people and transferred over $100k to savings.

Worked on a variety of project prototypes: built location-based reminder Android application to showcase capabilities of the Microsoft LOOP platform; created website to track info about ML models; customized an open-source video annotation software to enable training data collection for Microsoft Research. Microsoft

Implemented a full-stack project to showcase the Microsoft LOOP data inference platform. Built a native Android app to collect multiple streams of data, used the pandas Python library to clean and aggregate raw data, and designed & implemented a web UI to visualize correlations between different sets of data. Program Manager Intern

Developed the frontend & backend for an internal tool to track the health of all machines on Bloomberg's network. Designed and implemented the API & UX to show interactive charts detailing error rates across different machines.

Software Development Intern

Worked on team of ~6 TAs to help teach 15-121 Introduction to Data Structures in Java. Co-led two weekly recitation sessions along with one other TA, held weekly office hours to help students with homework and exam prep, and graded/gave feedback on quizzes, homework assignments, and exams.

Developed the frontend & backend for a single-page web application that allows nurses to quickly and easily track the status, medical history, and current needs for all patients under their care.
