    Ayodele Nzinga, MFA, Ph.D., is a Cultural Architect working across arts and culture, community development, and well-being to drive change in marginalized communities in the San Francisco Bay Area.

    She is a versatile creative professional, known for her roles as a producing director, playwright, poet, dramaturg, actress, and arts educator, with a focus on community advocacy and cultural enrichment.

    As the founder of Lower Bottom Playaz, Inc., Oakland's leading North American African Theater Company, now in its 22nd Season, Nzinga has made significant contributions to the arts scene.

    Additionally, she established the Black Arts Movement Business District Community Development Corporation (BAMBD CDC) and organizes BAMBDFEST, a prominent annual arts and cultural festival in Oakland celebrating the Black Arts Movement.

    Nzinga's community work through BAMBD CDC has resulted in over thirty million dollars in community benefits, including significant anti-displacement funds for small businesses and artists.

    Ayodele holds a Ph.D. in Transformative Education & Change from the California Institute of Integral Studies and an MFA in Writing & Consciousness from New College of California, reflecting her commitment to transformation and creativity.

    She has received various accolades and recognition for her contributions, including being honored in the Alameda County Women's Hall of Fame and by Theater Bay Area for her impact on the local theater scene.
