Aydin Babakhani
Director at UCLA Integrated Sensors Laboratory
Dr. Aydin Babakhani is a highly accomplished professional with a strong background in Integrated Circuits and Antennas. He holds a PhD in Analog, RF, and mm-Wave from Caltech and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology. Dr. Babakhani has an extensive academic and industry career, having served in various roles at prestigious institutions and companies.
During his tenure at UCLA Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science, Dr. Babakhani held positions as a Professor, Director of Integrated Sensors Laboratory, and an Associate Professor. In addition, he was a Co-Founder and Board Member at Nervonik, Inc., Maxwell Biomedical Inc., MicroSilicon Inc., and also served as a Director at UCLA Integrated Sensors Laboratory.
Prior to his time at UCLA, Dr. Babakhani was an Associate Professor with Tenure at Rice University, where he also held roles as an Assistant Professor and Director at Rice Integrated Systems and Circuits Laboratory. His industry experience includes working as a Research Scientist at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center and as a Postdoctoral Scholar at the California Institute of Technology.
Dr. Babakhani's expertise spans across areas such as Integrated Circuits, Antennas, Sensors, and Biomedical technology. He has also been involved in collaborative efforts with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) as a Member of the DARPA Microsystems Exploratory Council. Dr. Babakhani's contributions to academia and industry have been recognized through his various leadership roles and research initiatives.
