she256 is a movement dedicated to increasing diversity and breaking down barriers to entry in the blockchain space. We believe that blockchain technology will shape our future financial and governance structures, and as such it’s crucial that those building these systems are representative of the global, diverse population of which they are to serve. A fundamental problem plaguing the mass adoption of blockchain technology is lack of accessibility. Blockchain applications are exceedingly difficult for the average user to interact with, and there are few resources on UI / UX for blockchain. The goal of the designathon is to teach high schoolers about blockchain technology and the design problems in this space. This will give students the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the technology and then apply what they’ve learned to real blockchain problems, creating solutions to these problems prioritizing the design principles they learn throughout the event.

Designathon Organizer

For Teens Exploring Code 2018, I contacted multiple sponsors, speakers, designed posters, made the logo and focused on marketing the event through multiple social media platforms as well as contacting multiple schools across the bay area.I also helped on the operational side by helping manage the budget, purchasing stickers, t-shirts, and food and help create and write the granted proposal for City of Palo Alto Grants. 

Teens Exploring Code is a beginner friendly hackathon and an event where designers, programmers and entrepreneurs and anyone excited to learn comes together to build a product in 24 hours! The event is for anyone who is open-minded and is interested in learning code. The event had multiple speakers including a facebook web designer.
