Aruni Mitra

Aruni Mitra is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) of Economics at the University of Manchester, U.K., with a focus on macroeconomics, labour economics, and household finance. Prior to joining Manchester, Aruni was a Max Weber Postdoctoral Fellow at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy. Aruni completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Economics at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. Aruni's educational background includes a Master of Science (M.S.) in Quantitative Economics from Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Economics (Honours) from St. Xavier's College, Kolkata. Aruni's secondary and higher secondary education were completed at South Point High School in Kolkata with exceptional grades. Aruni has held various academic positions, including as a former Max Weber Fellow, Academic Assistant, Graduate Research Assistant, and Graduate Teaching Assistant at the Vancouver School of Economics at UBC. Aruni has also served as a Visiting Research Scholar at the Institute for New Economic Thinking and as an Economics Tutor Moderator at OneClass - Notesolution Inc. Additionally, Aruni gained practical experience as a Summer Intern at the Reserve Bank of India.
