Arunabh Sinha is the founder of UClean, India's largest laundry chain, which he established in October 2016. An alumnus of IIT Bombay, where he earned a master's degree in Metallurgy and Materials Science, Sinha hails from a modest background in Dimna village near Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. His journey into entrepreneurship began after working as an analytical associate at ZS Associates and later founding Franglobal, a business consulting firm, in 2011.
Sinha's idea for UClean emerged from his experience in the hospitality sector, where he observed significant complaints regarding laundry services. Recognizing the unorganized nature of the laundry industry in India, he launched UClean to provide a professional and scalable solution. The company has rapidly expanded, boasting over 350 stores across more than 100 cities and achieving a turnover of approximately ₹100 crore (around $12 million) within a few years.123
UClean offers a variety of services, including door-step laundry and dry cleaning, with a unique pricing model based on weight. The company focuses on fostering microentrepreneurship by partnering with local franchisees, providing them with the necessary training and resources to operate their businesses effectively.123
