Aristides Milios

Aristides Milios is a highly motivated machine learning researcher with a passion for enhancing the interpretability and effectiveness of machine learning systems.

Throughout his academic journey, he demonstrated a commitment to promoting entrepreneurship and design thinking education at various levels, including high school and university.

Aristides co-founded Bitness.io during high school, a startup that utilized WiFi beacons to provide analytics to brick-and-mortar store owners, and successfully went through accelerator programs in Atlantic Canada.

He co-founded Hoist Halifax, a club offering technology and entrepreneurship workshops for teenagers, showcasing his dedication to nurturing the next generation of innovators.

At Dalhousie University, he actively promoted entrepreneurship and design thinking through initiatives like the University Innovation Fellows program and as the co-president of the Dalhousie Entrepreneurship Society.

Aristides gained valuable research experience through internships at MarineTraffic Inc. and the Know-Center, focusing on AIS ship tracking data fusion, radar-based satellite imagery, and Active Learning techniques.

He completed his Bachelor of Computer Science with First Class Honours at Dalhousie University before pursuing a Master of Science in Computer Science at McGill University/MILA under the guidance of Dr. Siva Reddy.
