Anna Decker

Anna Decker is an experienced data science professional with a background in biostatistics and a diverse work history in biotech, marketing, and agriculture.

With a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biostatistics from the University of California, Berkeley, Anna's academic achievements also include a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Biostatistics, a Certificate in Environmental Health with a Focus on Emergency Preparedness from the University of Florida, and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mathematical Biology from Beloit College.

Anna's professional journey includes roles such as Associate Director of Data Science at EQRx where she is dedicated to improving the healthcare system and optimizing the creation of medicines using modern data science and machine learning approaches.

In her previous positions, Anna held leadership roles such as Senior Manager of Machine Learning at Indigo, Associate Director of Precision Medicine at GNS Healthcare, Principal Scientist at GNS Healthcare, and Senior Data Scientist at Aktana. She also worked as an Associate Scientist (Bioinformatics) at Genentech and gained valuable experience through internship roles at Genentech and the University of Minnesota.

Anna is passionate about deriving causal effects from complex data and effectively communicating these findings to non-technical audiences. She excels in collaborative environments and enjoys tackling challenging questions that lack simple answers.

Outside of her data science expertise, Anna engages in improv and sketch comedy, rides old steel bikes, and enjoys revisiting the show Parks and Recreation.
