Arielle Kandel

Arielle Kandel is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of New Women New Yorkers (NWNY), a nonprofit organization she established in 2014.34 As a two-time immigrant originally from France, Kandel has personal experience with the challenges faced by immigrant women in New York City.3

Kandel holds a Master's Degree in Law with a specialization in Humanitarian Action and International Law from the University of Aix-Marseille III in France.14 Her background includes work in the nonprofit sector, including experiences with organizations supporting refugees and migrants in India and Israel.4

New Women New Yorkers, under Kandel's leadership, focuses on empowering immigrant women through workforce development programs, community building, and storytelling.2 The organization aims to help immigrant women obtain meaningful employment or pursue higher education in NYC.2

Kandel's achievements include being a 2015 Agent of Change at the Centre for Social Innovation in Chelsea, a 2016 Fellow of PresenTense NYC, and a 2018-2019 Fellow of Coro's Immigrant Civic Leadership Program.4 She lives in Brooklyn with her family and is passionate about supporting immigrant women in their professional journeys.45
