Aongus Hegarty
President, International Markets, Dell Technologies
Aongus Hegarty is the President of International Markets at Dell Technologies, an organization spanning over 170 countries.24 He is responsible for all revenue, customer relationships, and strategy in these markets and is supported by over 50,000 team members.4 He leads markets outside of the United States and Canada.4 Previously, Hegarty served as President of Dell for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).1
Hegarty is an advocate for business innovation, entrepreneurship, sustainability, and gender balance.2 He co-chairs the Irish government’s Balance for Better Business initiative and is a founder of Lakeside Capital LTD.2 He serves on the Global Advisory Council for VentureWave Capital and the External Oversight Body for the Irish Defence Forces, and he chairs both the Lero Governance Committee and Munster Rugby Commercial Advisory Group.2 Additionally, Hegarty is an Agenda Contributor for the World Economic Forum.4
Aongus assumed his role as President of International Markets in 2020.4 He has over three decades of experience in the technology industry and is a 23-year veteran of Dell Technologies, where he has held several president, vice president, and general manager roles.4 Before joining Dell, he held senior leadership positions with Modus Media, Stream International, and Digital Equipment Corporation.1 While a student, he worked as a car welder for BMW in Munich.1
Hegarty trained as an Accountant and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.1 He holds a bachelor’s degree in business studies from the University of Limerick.1 He received the Alumni Award for Outstanding Achievement from the University of Limerick in 2013.4 In 2019, he received a life fellowship from the Irish Management Institute.24 In addition to his roles, Aongus is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Limerick in the Department of Management & Marketing, Kemmy Business School.3
