Anne Khademian

Anne Khademian is the Executive Director of the Universities at Shady Grove (USG) within the University System of Maryland, overseeing 9 universities and driving initiatives in access, affordability, workforce development, partnerships, and innovation across Montgomery County and Maryland.

With a background as a Presidential Fellow at Virginia Tech, Anne leverages her experience to build strategic partnerships and collaboration among academic institutions, community colleges, K-12 schools, businesses, nonprofits, and government agencies, aiming to provide students with exceptional education and career pathways.

Having served as a School Director, Faculty Leader, and author, Anne Khademian boasts over 20 years of success in higher education, specializing in driving organizational innovation and growth as a change agent.

Anne holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Washington University in St. Louis, along with an MPA and BA in Political Science from Michigan State University. She is a Fellow and board member of the National Academy of Public Administration and a member of the MSU Athletic Hall of Fame.

Throughout her career, Anne Khademian has held various roles at esteemed institutions, including Executive Director at The Universities at Shady Grove, Presidential Fellow at Virginia Tech, Director and Professor at Virginia Tech, and Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, among others.
