Anna Gainey, Liberal MP for NDG-Westmount
Anna Gainey is the Liberal Member of Parliament (MP) for the riding of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce—Westmount in Montreal, Quebec. She was elected to the House of Commons of Canada in the 2023 federal election.1
Prior to becoming an MP, Gainey held several notable positions:

Gainey holds a Master of Science in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science & Middle East Studies from McGill University.1
As the Liberal MP for NDG-Westmount, Gainey has spoken out against a controversial new language directive issued by the Quebec government that restricts the use of languages other than French in the health sector. She has appealed to federal Health Minister Mark Holland to intervene under the Canada Health Act, arguing the directive undermines the Act's principle of accessibility to health services.2
