Andrew Wallach

Andrew Wallach is a prominent figure in the finance industry, known for his roles as co-founder and former co-CEO of Spring Owl Asset Management, as well as CEO and CIO of Cumberland Associates LLC. With a history spanning back to 1990 when he joined Cumberland, Wallach climbed the ranks to partner by 1994 and member of the management committee by 1997. He eventually took the helm as CEO in 2010 and CIO in 2011, after co-managing the firm for over a decade. His expertise lies in a variety of sectors including telecommunications, media and entertainment, technology, consumer goods, distressed debt, and activist investing. Apart from his financial endeavors, Wallach is deeply engaged in philanthropic pursuits, serving as Chairman of the Natural Areas Conservancy, Chairman of the Dean's Council of the Yale Nursing School, and Co-Chair of the New York Steering Committee of New Music USA.
