Andrew Long

Andrew Long is the Founder and CEO of Switchcraft, a company that specializes in auto-switching services aimed at helping consumers secure better deals on their household energy bills. He established Switchcraft to combat what is often referred to as the "loyalty tax," where long-term customers are charged more than new customers for similar services. Under his leadership, Switchcraft has developed technology that automatically switches users to cheaper energy plans, significantly benefiting its members by saving them substantial amounts on their bills.13

Before founding Switchcraft in 2016, Andrew Long had a successful career as a derivatives trader, working for notable financial institutions including HSBC and Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein. His trading experience spanned over a decade and took him across major financial hubs such as London, Hong Kong, and Paris.2 Long holds a Bachelor's degree in Physics from the University of Bristol and is a CFA Charterholder.2

In addition to his role at Switchcraft, Andrew is also a co-founder of Athelas, a company focused on alternative data solutions.1 His work at Switchcraft has positioned him as a prominent figure in discussions about energy pricing and consumer rights in the UK energy market.3
