Andrew Levy

Andrew Levy is a social entrepreneur and co-founder of Umuzi, an African EdTech startup that tackles digital skills shortages and unemployment. With a postgraduate diploma in enterprise management from the University of Cape Town and a Certificate in Leading, Organizing, and Changing Communities from Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government, Levy is well-equipped to lead and manage his social enterprise. Besides addressing the digital skills gap, his organization supports talented yet underemployed young people to access high-value digital careers while building tech talent for leading companies to boost talent pipelines for scarce digital skills, data science, UI, UX, data engineering, and web development. Andrew is also an award-winning photojournalist passionate about telling untold stories. Levy's professional background includes a private banker at Investec, sports presenter at Radio 702 & KFM Cape Talk, former manager at African Leadership Network, and the former head of business development at SLOW. With his experience, expertise, skills, and interests, Andrew understands the power of mentorship and networking, which led him to co-found the African Coding Network to create more opportunities in the tech industry.
