I partner with social entrepreneurs to help them expand their impact by learning about and using Market-Based Management (MBM), the management philosophy that enabled Koch Industries to become one of the largest privately held companies in the world. In this role, I specialize in helping leaders consider best practices in social-change theory and provide editorial oversight for educational materials.

MIS Share is a small, volunteer-staffed non-profit dedicated to supporting parents who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss. I serve the organization by advising on strategic growth and ways to leverage volunteers to achieve our mission of providing information, support, and comfort to parents who have experienced a loss.

I oversee a team of experts who specialize in sharing and "translating" the underlying principles that guide the philanthropic investments of the Charles Koch Institute. Through advising, consulting, and educational efforts, we help internal and external stakeholders understand these principles and consider how they can be used to get superior results. Additionally, as an individual contributor, I specialize in advising on written products for external audiences (speeches, op-eds, books, and the like).

On the small leadership team that helped transform BRI from a financially struggling organization on the verge of collapse to a growing, financially strong non-profit whose student and teacher networks have grown by 400% and 66%, respectively, and whose culture is strongly results focused.

Managed up to 7 direct reports (including hiring/firing, providing performance reviews, and assigning roles) and 2 departments (including creating strategic plans, implementing measures, and achieving grant goals).

Oversaw HR operations and morale, coordinated the president search, and acted as interim leader with one coworker while the organization was without an executive director for 9 months.

Create and manage multiple long-term, six-figure projects: led teams through brainstorming sessions to identify projects and -- once funded -- project manage them to consistently meet or exceed grant expectations.

Created the vision and infrastructure of the "Student Talent Pipeline" to connect students with increasingly involved ways to interact with our network. Student contacts increased by 400%, and "placements" (a key strategic goal of the organization) increased by over 4,000%.

Acted as internal consultant to implement results-focused measures and clarify team strategies across the organization, resulting in improved project results and increased funding from donors.

Director of Programs Development

Created and delivered professional development training to non-profit professionals with 0-10 years of experience. Trained a team of trainers to provide management, economics, and philosophy courses pertaining to best-practices in non-profit management. Provided mentoring to young professionals, and supervised up to three team members. Extensive training in Market-Based Management, a management philosophy based on the principles of free societies that has helped one of the largest companies in America excel.

Program Manager and Instructor

Create and deliver high-quality, engaging training on a weekly basis to highly selective talent-development programs of up to 80 participants with 0-10 years of professional experience (Koch Associate and Internship Programs); received highest participant-survey scores of the training team; participants demonstrated improved on-the-job performance
Created and managed the Social Entrepreneur Project (SEP), which significantly increased the application of managerial concepts taught in all Foundation training programs, became the capstone of the Koch Associate Program, and launched multiple liberty advancing projects
