Andrea Schweitzer is a highly accomplished individual with a passion for teaching and a wealth of experience in science education, public outreach, and project management. She holds a Ph.D. in Astronomy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a BA in Physics with honors from Pomona College. She has previously worked as an Astronomy and Science Education Instructor at the Shambhala Mountain Center and the City of Fort Collins, as well as a Project Manager and Analyst at self-employed PM and Analyst. In addition, she led data analysis, education, and reporting projects for Fort Collins Utilities for five years, and was a former Board of Directors member at the Little Thompson Observatory.
Throughout her career, Andrea has been involved in a number of high-profile projects, including the first Colorado-based organization to achieve the Directors Award for water distribution system excellence from AWWA's Partnership for Safe Water. She has also worked with organizations such as NASA and Boeing, and is an expert in project management of multi-location teams, especially in technology fields.
Andrea is driven by a love of teaching, and has received national grant awards for the development of her training programs. She is widely respected as a business analyst and data analytics specialist, with exceptional skills in public speaking and keynote speeches. Andrea is also an accomplished Toastmaster, having completed their Competent Speaker and Competent Leadership programs.
