Anand Srinivasan

Anand Srinivasan is a PhD student in Mathematics at the University of Cambridge, currently working in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics (DAMTP) as part of the Goldstein Lab.13 His research focuses on active matter and distributed control.1

Prior to his PhD studies, Anand completed his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2014 to 2018.1 He has a diverse background in research and industry:

1. Senior Research Software Engineer at Harvard University (November 2021 - Present), working on fast and parallel algorithms for neural spike sorting.12

2. Co-founder and CTO of AlphaSheets, Inc. (March 2015 - February 2019), a startup building cloud-based spreadsheet software.1

3. Research intern at Georgia Tech Research Institute (2012-2014) and MIT (Summer 2013).1

Anand has received numerous awards and honors for his research and academic achievements, including:

• Finalist in the Google Global Science Fair (2011)
• Participant in the White House Science Fair (2012)
• Davidson Fellow (2012)
• Intel International Science and Engineering Fair participant (2013)
• 8th Place Winner in the Intel Science Talent Search (2014)

His research interests include statistical mechanics, discrete geometry, isoperimetric inequalities, and dynamical systems.12 In his free time, Anand enjoys baking, strength training, and gardening.2
