Dr. Amen Ahmed Bawazir, MBBS, MD Epid., PhD, is an accomplished professional with a rich background in medicine and epidemiology. He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Aden University in 1984, followed by a PhD in Epidemiology from Liverpool University in 2009. Dr. Bawazir's expertise lies in areas such as cancer, primary health care, hepatitis, and non-communicable diseases.
Dr. Bawazir has been actively involved in academia, serving as an associate professor for master's students in public health at the College of Public Health & Health Informatics, King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences, Riyadh. He has made significant contributions to the development of the National Cancer Control Program in Yemen and has been associated with the Gulf Cancer Centre for Cancer Prevention in Riyadh. Additionally, he has held various administrative roles, including Associate Dean for Postgraduate and Research, Head of Aden Cancer Centre at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Aden University, and Chairperson for the Yemeni Society for Cancer Control/Aden.
