    Amara Antilla is an independent curator based in Washington DC with over fifteen years of experience in international contemporary art.1 She previously served as Senior Curator at the Contemporary Arts Center (CAC) in Cincinnati from 2019 to 2023.12 During her tenure at CAC, Antilla organized solo exhibitions and new commissions for numerous artists, including Tania Candiani, Kahlil Robert Irving, Steffani Jemison, and Tai Shani.1

    Prior to her role at CAC, Antilla worked as a curator at the Guggenheim Museum in New York, where she contributed to various exhibitions and expanded the permanent collection through acquisitions.1 She has received notable recognitions, including the Andy Warhol Foundation Curatorial Research Fellowship and the Emily Hall Tremaine Exhibition Research Award in 2022.1

    Antilla's educational background includes studying art history at Tufts University, the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and Hunter College of the City University of New York (CUNY).1 Her curatorial projects have been featured at venues such as the Dhaka Art Summit, ICA San Diego, and the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art in Kansas City.1

    Currently, Antilla is curating the IN/SITU 2024 program for EXPO CHICAGO, featuring large-scale sculpture, video, film, and site-specific works from international artists.1
