My team is responsible for architecture, requirements development, integration and verification of the motion control systems for Waymo's autonomous vehicles.  We work with industry partners and internal teams to design and implement motion control subsystems that support the performance, robustness and fault tolerance requirements of the vehicle.  We are also responsible for verification and readiness of those systems.

- Supported program and technical management of the launch operations segment of an orbital launch program during concept and preliminary design- Created templates of linked schedules and budgets for subsystem owners to ensure consistency across subsystems and minimize duplicated efforts- Defined an architecture with detailed use cases for ground system software to execute launch sequences and other operations

My team is responsible for the verification and acceptance testing performed on each flight vehicle prior to flight.  We plan the tests, write the procedures, then execute the tests. During testing we typically act as the engineer with overall responsibility for the test and / or as the console operator controlling the launch vehicle and ground systems required to complete the test.  The team is heavily involved in the development of vehicle launch procedures and we support our launch operations team both on site and remotely to get the vehicle processed and flown.

Several major tasks:-Commissioned a full scale separation system test facility- Designed built and commissioned a new rocket engine test stand- Developed guidance and control software for attitude control of a suborbital crew capsule- Developed the control software for a 100klbf thrust class cryogenic rocket engine- Designed cable harnesses for the same engine

Designed software for helicopter engine controllers.  Completed the first year of the ACE program.

Controls Engineer

Designed custom fixturing to help automate operations that were previously done by hand.  Participated in a feasibility study to see if flexible circuitry cold be used for interconnections in small embedded electronics projects

Draper Laboratory

Engineering Intern - Packaging Dept.

Debugged hardware for a new embedded device prototyping tool.  Developed device drivers in Labview embedded for data acquisition and Bluetooth communications modules.
