Under Dr. Daniel Casasanto, I conducted statistical analyses in R of the data collected from behavioral and neuroimaging experiments. I also assisted in the design and implementation of these experiments. I programmed an experiment that was run on Amazon Mechanical Turk, managed nightly lab-wide data backups using a bash script, and implemented dynamic filtering capabilities on the lab website's publication page.

I designed and conducted an experiment for my senior honors thesis with advice from Dr. Dario Maestripieri investigating the effect of stress and priming on financial risk aversion. For the experiment, I programmed a novel economic risk-taking game in Python designed to separate baseline from irrational risk-taking behavior by manipulating expected values. I collected samples of subjects’ testosterone and cortisol levels as a physiological marker of stress level and analyzed the data in R.

Under Dr. Adam Buchwald, researched acquired language aphasia in an impaired patient with an eye toward generalizing findings about language processing to healthy populations.

In Dr. Tessa West’s social psychology lab,  researched emotional contagion between two participants while they completed a math task.
Collected behavioral and physiological ECG data in this dyad experiment.

Became familiar with general laboratory techniques that encompassed both molecular and behavioral work on the zebra finch model system. Sectioned bird brain specimens, mounted these on slides which I then stained and used to identify certain brain regions under microscope. Also scored live bird behavior using scoring system, JWatcher.
