I serve as an independent board member of Leerpunt (www.leerpunt.be), appointed by the Flemish Government. The Leerpunt foundation aims to create, synthesize and spread scientific knowledge to the educational field, informing teachers and schools about evidence-based and effective learning interventions and practices.

The Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO) is a quality assurance agency that safeguards the quality of higher education in the Netherlands and Flanders, in an expert and independent manner, and that fosters the quality culture pursued within the higher education institutions in the Netherlands and Flanders. It accredits existing and new programmes, and assesses the quality assurance of higher education institutions.

- scientific fundamental research about themes in cognitive psychology (main), as well as its applications in educational, industrial/organizational psychology and behavioral economics
- academic teaching in the UGent psychology program
- academic services: chairman of the UGent psychology program committee
- services to society: media, psychology alumni, blogs, opinions, consulting
