Alyssa Schechter

Alyssa Schechter, who now goes by Alyssa Morton, is an accomplished professional with a strong background in education and management consulting. She graduated from the University of Virginia in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Philosophy, Policy and Law, Spanish, and Economics.12

During her time at the University of Virginia, Alyssa was awarded the prestigious Jefferson Scholarship, which is given to less than 1% of the incoming class. This scholarship recognizes students who have demonstrated exceptional academic abilities, leadership talents, and community engagement.2

In her current position as CEO and Partner at Empower Schools, Alyssa focuses on partnering with states and districts to improve educational opportunities and outcomes for Black, Latinx, and economically disadvantaged students. Her work impacts tens of thousands of students across more than 10 different states.2
