Alyssa Li, also known as Alyssa Dayan, is a graduate student at the University of California, Berkeley, where she is pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science with a focus on Human-Compatible AI. Her research interests encompass exploration and intrinsic motivation, lifelong learning, and hierarchical abstractions in both human and AI contexts.1
Before her doctoral studies, Alyssa worked as a Machine Learning Research Scientist at Uber's Advanced Technologies Group (ATG), specializing in prediction and human motion simulation for autonomous driving applications. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics with Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where she graduated in 2018. During her undergraduate career, she engaged in various research projects across fields such as genomics, systems neuroscience, and computational cognitive science.1
