Alisha Bhagat

Who is Alisha Bhagat?

Alisha Bhagat is a futurist and strategist who serves as the Futures Lead at Forum for the Future, a global non-profit organization.12 Her work focuses on the creative use of futures tools such as strategic foresight, scenario planning, speculative design, and games to drive long-term positive change, particularly around issues related to social and environmental justice.16

At Forum for the Future, Alisha leads the futures team in integrating futures thinking into their work with partners across various sectors including food, mobility, and consumer goods.15 She is passionate about shifting mindsets to enable transformational change and has written about the importance of long-term imagination for impact in civil society and philanthropy.37

In addition to her role at Forum, Alisha is a part-time lecturer at Parsons School of Design at The New School.1 She is also a board member and sitting board president of Bitch Media, a non-profit feminist media organization.4

Alisha offers interactive workshops on futures thinking, applied case studies, personal futures, design jams, and futures gaming through her website alishabhagat.com.8 She received a BS in Anthropology and History from Carnegie Mellon University, an MS in Foreign Service from Georgetown University, and was a Fulbright Scholar in 2005.1
