    Alina Rwei

    Assistant Professor at Technische Universiteit Delft

    Alina Rwei is an assistant professor at TU Delft with a focus on precision therapeutics, specializing in drug delivery, bioelectronics, and biomaterials.

    Alina Rwei holds a Ph.D. from MIT, where she conducted research on externally triggerable local anesthesia using photoresponsive liposomes under the guidance of Professor Robert Langer and Professor Daniel Kohane.

    Apart from her academic work, Alina Rwei served as the co-chair of the Academics, Research and Careers committee at the MIT Graduate Student Council, emphasizing professional development for graduate students.

    Alina Rwei co-founded AquaFresco, a startup focused on developing a filtration system for laundry water recycling, which won multiple awards including the 2015 MassChallenge and the 2014 MIT MADMEC competition.

    Passionate about dance, Alina Rwei also served as a choreographer for the MIT Asian Dance Team from 2015 to 2017.

    She has a background in Materials Science and Engineering with a focus on Polymers and Soft Matter, holding a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from MIT.
