President and Co-founder

I started at eBay as a PR Specialist, working on the consumer PR team, driving publicity for the millions of buyers and sellers that make up the eBay marketplace. This was an incredibly fun and exciting role. I loved meeting people from all over the world that had started and built their businesses selling products and technologies via eBay. In my early role, I also led PR for eBay's Developer Program (eBay was one of the first major platforms to open up its API to the world's developers) and its global Affiliate Program, and I got to know these industries and audiences very well. Lastly, I had the very pleasurable opportunity of writing a weekly update for the executive team, called "This Week in eBay Pop Culture," where we reported on Jesus Toast, celebrity collectibles and the wildly bizarre range of things people list on eBay.

When a role opened up on the Corporate Communications team to lead all Tech and Innovation PR, I jumped at the opportunity to get back into tech full time. I was promoted two levels into this role, where I led several major national, technology and innovation PR campaigns, one of which landed our team a PRSA Silver Anvil. I built out the speaker's bureau for the CTO and other tech executives, placing them in high profile speaking opportunities around the globe, and landing one junior executive on Business 2.0's 50 Most Important People in Business list, just behind Oprah Winfrey.

eBay

PR Manager

My first agency gig. This is where I really learned how to keep all of the plates spinning. I supported a number of clients in this role, drove publicity around company launches and ongoing outreach for such technology clients as IBM Tivoli, BlueArc, Brocade Communications and Riverbed Technologies. I learned how to pitch, became embedded in the tech world, developed relationships with reporters, managed analyst relations and regularly impressed my managers with my hustle and consistent output.

Account Executive

This is where I really began to dig into PR. In this role I reported to the VP of Comms, and worked with her and her team to drive strategic national and local PR campaigns around adoption of online bill payment. We regularly placed stories in the banking and financial trades, as well as in regional broadcast, online and print media, all of which helped fuel the movement to online banking and bill payment becoming the norm that it is today. My very first responsibility here was to check the Wall Street Journal for coverage each morning, and ensure my boss knew whether we were in it before she came into the building.
