Alexis Grant

Alexis Grant is the Founder and CEO of They Got Acquired, a media company launched in February 2022 that focuses on redefining startup success. The platform highlights the stories of bootstrappers, underrepresented founders, and small exits, specifically covering acquisitions of online businesses valued between $100K and $50M—transactions often overlooked by mainstream tech media. This initiative aims to provide visibility and resources for founders navigating these pivotal moments in their entrepreneurial journeys.1

In addition to her role at They Got Acquired, Grant is a Media Entrepreneurship Fellow at Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism, where she mentors students and collaborates with the university's entrepreneurship hub to further develop her niche media brand.1 Her background includes founding other ventures such as Retreat & Create, which focuses on empowering women through workcations, and The Write Life, a platform dedicated to writers.1

Grant holds a Master's degree from Northwestern University and a Bachelor's degree from Colby College. Her extensive career also includes roles as Executive Vice President of Content at The Penny Hoarder and as a reporter for the Houston Chronicle.1
