Alexandra Smith
Mayor's Office
Alexandra "Alli" Smith is the Chief of Partnerships and Philanthropic Strategy for the City of Baltimore, reporting directly to the Chief Administrative Officer.1 She was appointed to this new role by Mayor Brandon M. Scott on January 25, 2024.1 In this position, Smith is responsible for centralizing and systematizing Baltimore's relationships with philanthropic partners, serving as the main point of contact between the city government and various philanthropic organizations.1
Prior to her current role, Smith served in several positions within Baltimore's city government, including:
- Assistant Deputy Mayor of Equity, Health, and Human Services
- Director of Community Engagement in the Mayor's Office
- Deputy Director of the Mayor's Office of Neighborhoods (now renamed the Mayor's Office of Community Affairs)1
Before joining City Hall, Smith worked as an elementary school teacher in Baltimore City Public Schools.1 She holds a Masters in Teaching from Johns Hopkins University and is a graduate of Olivet Nazarene University.13
