Alex Restrepo

In addition to her role at 2112 and Groove Garden, Alex is the Assistant Vice Chair of Communications for the Women In Music Chicago Chapter, where she contributes to the advancement of women in the music industry. She is also a freelance music journalist with a passion and love for music that is reflected in her work.

Alex's background includes a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism & Mass Communication from the University of Iowa, where she honed her journalism skills and produced two weekly radio shows. She was also the Director of Online Content for KRUI 89.7 fm's website for 3.5 years, where she was responsible for the website's overall content and social media presence.

Aside from her work experience, Alex has been involved in various organizations and held multiple roles, such as Freelance Photographer/Blogger at The Alex Restrepo, Account Coordinator - Festival Activations at The Marketing Arm, and Multimedia/Blogging Intern at 2112 Creative Industry Incubator.
