Alex Atallah

Alex Atallah is a prominent figure in the cryptocurrency and NFT space, best known as the co-founder of OpenSea, the first and largest marketplace for non-fungible tokens (NFTs). He co-founded OpenSea in January 2018 alongside Devin Finzer, and under their leadership, the platform became a leading destination for buying and selling digital collectibles, gaming items, and virtual goods backed by blockchain technology. By December 2021, OpenSea was processing over $2 billion in sales volume per month.124

Atallah's background includes a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Stanford University, where he completed coursework in human-computer interaction and game theory. His professional experience prior to OpenSea includes roles as Chief Technology Officer at Whatsgoodly and as a Forward Deployed Engineer at Palantir Technologies, where he contributed to various innovative projects in data management and cybersecurity.23

In July 2022, Atallah announced his resignation from OpenSea to pursue new ventures while remaining on the company's board as an advisor. He expressed excitement about the future of OpenSea and his desire to focus on building new projects in the crypto space.12 Following his departure, he became the CEO and co-founder of OpenRouter, a platform aimed at enhancing the use of large language models (LLMs) in various applications.35
