Alejandro Ibarra-Yúnez is a Professor Emeritus at EGADE Business School, Tecnológico de Monterrey, with a distinguished career in economics and public policy. His expertise encompasses various fields, including international trade and finance, economic models, industrial organization and regulations, econometrics, and the Latin American economy. He has a notable focus on issues such as imperfect contracts in international integration, moral hazard problems, game theory, and network sectors like telecommunications and energy.123
Dr. Ibarra-Yúnez has held significant leadership roles, including Director of Network Economies and Economic Regulation at Tecnológico de Monterrey and involvement with the Graduate Center for Studies of Western Hemispheric Trade at the University of Texas at Austin, where he has also served as a professor since 1994. His research contributions include over 40 articles in scientific journals and 11 published books, and he has received accolades such as the “Raúl Conde Hernández” Prize for Excellence in Research in 2019.15
In addition to his academic roles, he is an international consultant in industrial organization and regulation, and he is recognized as a Level II member of the Sistema Nacional de Investigadores (SNI) in Mexico.14
