Alejandro Perera

Alejandro Ibrahim Perera is the General Director of Teruel Airport (PLATA) in Spain.12 Born in Las Palmas, Canary Islands, he has had a lifelong passion for aviation.2 He holds a PhD in Aeronautical Engineering from Universidad Politecnica de Madrid, an MBA from IE Business School and Cambridge University, and completed ThePowerMBA program in 2020.23
Ibrahim Perera has been leading Teruel Airport since 2012.5 Under his management, the airport has become a significant industrial-aeronautical hub in Europe, specializing in aircraft maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO), as well as parking and recycling for aircraft and helicopters.12
His achievements include:
- Overseeing a €30 million investment plan to expand airport facilities2
- Developing the airport's capacity to simultaneously park 100 aircraft and dismantle over 40 aircraft2
- Creating over 250 jobs, boosting the local economy2
- Participating in the Horizon 2020 European project to improve environmental sustainability in aviation2
Ibrahim Perera has received several recognitions, including the Military Commander Merit Diploma of the Army in December 2022.1 He is also the President of the Aragonian Aerospace Cluster (AERA) and serves on the boards of AERPAS and APL.4
