Adam Werbach is a well-known business leader and sustainability advocate, whose career has spanned senior roles in e-commerce, marketing, and public policy. He made headlines at the age of 23, when he was elected as the national President of the Sierra Club, the oldest and largest environmental organization in the U.S. Since then, he has been a force to be reckoned with, serving in top positions at companies like Walmart, Saatchi & Saatchi, and Amazon.
Werbach is a graduate of Brown University and the Harvard-Westlake School, and also studied at The Mountain School of Milton Academy. He is an author, having penned the book, "Strategy for Sustainability", which is published by Harvard Business Press.
Werbach co-founded Trove, an e-commerce start-up that provides resale services for Patagonia, and has been named the #1 Most Innovative Style Company of 2020 by Fast Company. He has also served as the Chief Sustainability Officer of Saatchi & Saatchi, where he built and led the sustainable marketing division. Werbach has always been deeply committed to sustainability, and has worked with organizations like Greenpeace and the SF Public Utilities Commission to promote environmentally-friendly policies.
His experience in global sustainability frameworks including CDP, SBTi, SASB, GHG protocol and CFD has made him a sought-after expert in this field. Werbach now leads Amazon's sustainable shopping efforts as their Global Lead for Sustainable Shopping.
