Adam Sutherland

Adam Sutherland is the Worldwide (WW) Go-To-Market Team and Public Sector Lead for the Generative AI Innovation Team at Amazon Web Services (AWS), a position he has held since May 2023. He is based in the Washington DC-Baltimore area and has a significant background in machine learning and business development within AWS, having previously worked as a Machine Learning Strategist and in various leadership roles focused on data science and analytics for media and entertainment.1

His career at AWS began in 2018, and he has held multiple roles, including Principal Business Development Manager for Machine Learning Applied Services and WW Business Development Lead for ML Language and Vision. Before joining AWS, Sutherland served as CEO of AppTek and held senior positions at National Geographic, NPR, and Discovery Communications, focusing on strategy and corporate development.1

Sutherland holds a BA in Asian Studies from the University of Illinois and an MBA in Strategy and Finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He also completed an Executive Education program in Media Strategy at Harvard Business School.1
