Abebu Kassie is a dedicated chemist with expertise in organometallic synthetic skills and air-sensitive chemistry techniques. He is proficient in both solution and solid-state characterization methods, including NMR spectroscopy, PXRD, 3-Flex, SmartVac, XRF, ICP, TGA, FTIR, GC-MS, and Column Chromatography. Abebu is a self-motivated individual always keen on acquiring new skills and knowledge.
He pursued his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemistry from The Ohio State University and completed his Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Chemistry with a Minor in Math from Colby College. Additionally, Abebu holds an International Baccalaureate Diploma with a focus on Math, Chemistry, Physics, Economics, English A2, and Amharic from Waterford Kamhlaba UWC of Southern Africa.
Throughout his career, Abebu has been involved in various academic roles, including serving as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Michigan, Graduate Teaching Assistant at The Ohio State University and Brandeis University, and as an Organic Chemistry Research Assistant at Colby College.
