Dr. Carlos Pacheco is a seasoned professional with a Ph.D. in Chemistry and extensive industrial and academic experience spanning over a decade. He currently serves as the NMR Lab Manager and Senior University Lecturer at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Throughout his career, Dr. Pacheco has held various roles such as NMR Spectroscopist, Assistant Research Professor, and NMR Lab Manager in esteemed institutions like Princeton University, University of Connecticut, and Penn State University.
His core competencies include a robust background in solution and solid-state NMR, coupled with hands-on expertise in maintaining analytical instruments from major brands like Bruker and Agilent (Varian). Dr. Pacheco is well-versed in a range of spectroscopic techniques including FTIR, UV/Vis/NIR, Raman, EPR, as well as other analytical methods like TGA, DSC, GC-IR, and LC-MS. He brings extensive experience in small molecule structure elucidation and biological NMR to his work, having led research projects focused on developing and validating NMR methodologies.
Dr. Pacheco's academic journey includes a Ph.D. in Chemistry with a specialization in NMR from the University of Rhode Island, preceded by studies in Chemical Engineering at COPPE/UFRJ, Brazil, and the School of Chemistry/UFRJ, Brazil. His professional affiliations encompass roles as NMR Senior University Lecturer at NJIT and past appointments as Petroleum Chemist/Lab Manager at PETROBRAS R&D Center, among others.
