Aatif Somji

Senior Research Officer, Gender Equality & Social Inclusion - ODI

Aatif Somji is a dedicated professional with a passion for unpaid care work, women's economic empowerment, and the involvement of men and boys in advancing gender equality.

He holds a Master's degree in Development Studies from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, a BSc (Hons) in Economics, Politics, and International Studies with First Class Honours from the University of Warwick, and has participated in the ERASMUS Exchange Programme focusing on International Relations and French at Institut d'Etudes politiques d'Aix-en-Provence.

Aatif has a rich professional background, having worked in various organizations including the International Labour Organization as a Technical Officer, BRAC as part of the Research and Evaluation Unit, UNDP within the Global Cluster for Early Recovery as a Research Assistant, CARE in Humanitarian Policy and Advocacy, BEAM Exchange as a Programme Officer, PwC as a Senior Associate Consultant, VSO as part of the International Citizen Service, and PwC as a Summer Associate.
